In the last weeks, our cousin Joaquin Ralda, who has a small construction company in Godall, has refurbished our little house in La Plana, which traditionally served as a refuge for the Ralda Family during the olive harvest picking. On January, the Spanish magazine SINC published a news of a recent scientific research lead by experts at Jaen University. The work shows new benefits of an olive-oil rich diet. Specifically, tests with mice have shown that the microbiota (or intestinal flora, the millions of bacteria that live within our digestive system and helps our feeding) gets benefited from a virgin extra olive oil consumption rather than from other kinds of fat one, as, for instance, butter.
