The little house at La Plana refurbished!

In the last weeks, our cousin Joaquin Ralda, who has a small construction company in Godall, has refurbished our little house in La Plana, which traditionally served as a refuge for the Ralda Family during the olive harvest picking. This will allow us to better welcome our R+F Friends who want to visit their adopted olive trees and discover the two millenary olive trees of our beautiful parcel of La Plana.

This house was used by our grandfather, “el Yayo Pere” when he came with his mule and his trolley to work at La Plana where he often stayed to spend the night. Afterwards, our parents stayed there during the autumn olives picking.

With the current locomotion means, we do not longer need to sleep on the spot, and therefore Victor and his companions have recently used to leave furniture, make a “siesta” or have a lunch when they come to work for the day.

We have not changed the typical architecture of these small houses of the region with a minimalist comfort (small window to prevent the sun enters the house, fireplace to heat the house in winter, a cistern that collects raining waters and no toilets).

With the refurbishment or our little house, we will be able to do picnics, aperitifs or even barbecues with all our friends or just to refuge there when it is raining during the days of picking olives in winter.

We want to also thank our mother, the famous “Yaya Pili” for her initiative and energy to restore the house, follow the work and decorate it.

Last but not the least, you have no excuse for not coming to visit us!

With Regards,

Alfredo & Pierre Ralda
