In the last weeks, our cousin Joaquin Ralda, who has a small construction company in Godall, has refurbished our little house in La Plana, which traditionally served as a refuge for the Ralda Family during the olive harvest picking. On January, the Spanish magazine SINC published a news of a recent scientific research lead by experts at Jaen University. The work shows new benefits of an olive-oil rich diet. Specifically, tests with mice have shown that the microbiota (or intestinal flora, the millions of bacteria that live within our digestive system and helps our feeding) gets benefited from a virgin extra olive oil consumption rather than from other kinds of fat one, as, for instance, butter. This public acknowledgement was given to us during the first day of the recent Fair of the Oil and Asparagus, on March 10. It has been our first prize since our project started. Last year we delivered an extraordinary Virgin Extra Olive Oil from the “Picual” variety, obtained from our exploitation at La Barranquera. Now that the the 2017-2018 Harvest has ended, we are pleased to announce you that we managed to carry some 18.667 kg of olives to the Godall Local Mill. Last March 10-11, our village of Godall held the 15th edition of its “Oil and Asparagus Fair”. As it happened in 2017, Ralda&Friends invited all its Friends and Adopters to our annual Encounteer in order to enjoy on the culture, the folklore and the gastronomy of our village.
