Following our tradition, which was established in 2015, on Tuesday, May 30, we will host an encounter of friends and adopters in Geneva, to have the opportunity to taste the new olive oil of this season. We will gather people, “pan con tomate” and some other delicatessen such as the mythical Spanish potato omelette. This year we will be happy to have with us our viticulturist friend and adopter Emilienne Hutin, who is presenting her wonderful wines, and Yoann Cassam Chennay, bringing a tasting of exotic and original peppers and spices. In this new video featuring my “Yaya” Pili and myself, we present the recipe of one of the most delightful dishes in the Catalan late Winter: the Asparagus Omelette, with one of the most celebrated native products we have in our fields: the asparagus. Some 20 people, coming from Spain, Switzerland and France came to discover the origins of our project and enjoyed a wonderful Mediterranean day with temperatures close to 30ºC in some moments of the day. Our village of Godall, where we have our olive trees, is ready to host the 14th Olive and Asparagus Fair on the week-end of 11 & 12 March. This is an annual meeting where traditional and exquisite local products are presented and tasted. It became a reference fair in Catalonia, and it is an opportunity for the Godall inhabitants to be all involved around a common project of sharing our Mediterranean identity. Our Friends and Adopters may already know what is serendipity. Dictionary says it is an aptitude for making desirable discoveries by accident. An example: in 1928, Dr. Alexander Fleming was working on the Flu vaccine when he noticed that by accident a kind of fungus had eradicated the “staphylococcus” bacteria from a laboratory tile.
