RALDA & FRIENDS HAS REMOVED 22.650 KILOS OF CO2 FROM THE ATMOSPHERE LAST SEASON
At beginning of September, the International Olive Council (IOC) presented very relevant news on its blog that made us very happy: “The world’s olive population protects us against CO2.”
As you know it, the production of olives and oils started during the Classical Antiquity and has helped growing, feeding and beautifying the lives of millions of people throughout the History. But it seems that it has also helped the fields and the atmosphere keeping the conditions for life optimal.
Recent surveys have calculated that each liter of olive oil produced removes 10 kg of CO2 from the atmosphere. That means that olive trees are just as beneficial for people’s health as they are for the environment. For this reason, the IOC considers that olive trees are “part of the solution to climate change”, as well as “a good barrier against desertification” in our landscapes.
At Ralda & Friends we are delighted to know that, despite the difficulties, we are helping to eliminate CO2 from the atmosphere. In 2019 our production reached around 2.084 liters, which equals to 2.265 liters. Therefore, we have eliminated 22.650 kilos of CO2!
The news from the IOC was accompanied by a short video that we recommend you watch and share at this link.
